Quote

"When I face the desolate impossibility of writing 500 pages, a sick sense of failure falls on me, and I know I can never do it. Then gradually, I write one page and then another. One day's work is all I can permit myself to contemplate."

John Steinbeck

Wow, I wonder if the quote is how you feel...or how you've felt. It certainly is descriptive. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on writing, I'm sure it's great for many, many writers out there.

Ahhh, I love this quote. I also love the title story in Anne Lamott's book "Bird by Bird." It is so easy to get overwhelmed.
