Questions

Although I wrote five pages today I was haunted by:

Why am I doing this?  What for?  Why am I doing this? What’s the point? Why am I doing this?  Who will care? Why am I doing this? What is this book about?  Why am I doing this? What kind of book is it? Why am I doing this?

Because it's what you do--write.

I agree...because it's what you do. I've missed not checking in on your blog. The truth is--I quit writing fiction. A magazine writing job fell into my lap and since i seem to make more headway with NF than fiction, I grabbed it. I love the fast pace, the instant gratification...the paycheck. I haven't missed fiction at all, but I do think of you and your writing. Please keep going with your book. You have so much talent... I don't. I grabbed what was right for me. This job makes me FEEL talented. :-) But, I want to be able to walk in the only bookstore we have... Books a Million...and buy your next book. OK?

Keep going, Sandra. For those of us out here who do know why you're writing.

I ask those questions all the time, and not just about writing. Then I just soldier on.
