Not My Fault?

The question mark is because in a way it is my fault.  Not being able to write.  I hoped to start again right after Labor Day but circumstances wouldn’t let me.  I created the circumstance but had no idea that after L.D. this would happen.  I was living in a dream world, I guess.

I do want to go back to the novel I started last spring.  I have no idea when I can.  There might come a time when I can do a little here and there but that isn’t the best way for me to write a novel.  Probably isn’t best for anyone.

I’m not the kind of person who can write on the subway or in a diner so running in here and doing a paragraph or so doesn’t appeal to me.  On the other hand, over the summer I realized some mistakes I’d made and although I don’t normally go back over pages until I’ve finished the whole novel, these are not normal times.  It certainly would be a new way for me. But all of this is new.  No set hours, etc.

When I can I think I’ll give that a try.  Maybe it’ll work.  I’ll let you know.

It seems to me that you don't want to write and you create, consciously or not, the conditions that prevent you from doing it.
Why are you forcing this on yourself?
You have nothing to prove.
Just do the things that make you happy.

I was in a similar condition as you. I was "stuck" with conflicting believes, between things that I "had" to do (to prove myself worthy or to fulfill my "duties") and finding my own way.

Everything changed when I read "Seth speaks" and "The Nature of Personal Reality". These books are not the defined "self-help" books and they are not "paranormal".

Give it a honest try, read a chapter from beginning to end, at least. Read the comments on Amazon.com also, if you have doubts.

I'm grateful for them entering my book and I wish you all the best.

Yikes! Cristina, not you.
Patti speaks. Don't listen to kooks.

Cristina you completely misunderstand me. Anyone who has read this blog knows what I'm writing about.

I want to write because I'm a writer. I got a puppy and had no idea how much time it would take up. That's all. I did go through a period when I didn't want to write and I didn't do it.

As for the books you suggest, I know about "Seth Speaks" and books like this don't interest me.

I don't need to read a book to get back to writing. What I need is for the puppy to get older.

Cristina is right. If raising a dog is an impediment to your writing and you really want to write, give the puppy away to a loving family. What'd you think when you adopted a puppy, that it would be maintenance free?

I mean, c'mon. I hate to say this, but I'm compelled to, but you seem lacking in self-awareness.

Listen Winkler, I don't know what your problem is with me but you show no awareness, self or other, about anything.

"I hate to say this" is pathetic.

Hey, just enjoy the puppy, Sandra.
Hope you are well now.

Hi, Ms. Scoppettone! I found your site after searching to see if there would be any more mysteries in the Lauren Laurano series. I really miss seeing new titles in that one. Anyhow--I was thinking, why don't you do NaNoWriMo to motivate you to write the new novel? It'll be for fun. And you can take puppy training/loving breaks any time you like! There's no pressure but from yourself. Challenging yourself, not trying to prove a darn thing. And who knows? It looks to me as though pretty soon publishing is going to change drastically, and you might be able to publish that one direct-to-Kindle for your fans to buy. You already have a name established, so you could sell books without the big publisher. Just a thought.

Hope the puppy is happy! If it's a Pom like ours, it may never "really" be potty trained for tinkles, but YOU will be trained to adore it, so there's the trade-off. *grin*
