Geez, but a girls gotta do…I hate the ideas that are brilliant at one or two in the morning and stink to high heaven when I read them later.

Jess, I agree, I think it's a great title and maybe you should let the editor/publisher decide.Jean Sheldonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01569305699475871520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8208953.post-78950810355114720852007-08-07T22:23:00.000-04:002007-08-07T22:23:00.000-04:00The reason I thought I should change the title is ...The reason I thought I should change the title is because my book takes place in Cameron Parish and that's the parish Hurricane Rita destroyed. The book may never sell or it might sell a hundred years from now. I suppose I could let an editor make the decision, huh? Too, most people don't even think of Rita. Katrina is the hurricane in the news. :(

Titles are very hard for me. My first lines aren't too bad but endings are difficult. I think my most fun lines are the cliff-hangers after each chapter. ;-)Jessica Fergusonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18320362797117599955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8208953.post-13765614511295213772007-08-07T22:09:00.000-04:002007-08-07T22:09:00.000-04:00I thought it was catchy but I was wrong. I've been called "The Queen of Titles" So, it has to be absolutely right. This wasn't.

First lines are hard and important. Last lines, too. I feel like it must sum up off everything in three words. Or else sums up nothing and is merely cute or pithy. The only thing worse is writing the first or last sentence.pattinase (abbott)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02916037185235335846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8208953.post-90897440884451799402007-08-07T17:59:00.000-04:002007-08-07T17:59:00.000-04:00I would never connect this to Hurricane Rita. Now... it's title-less. I haven't come up with anything I like better. Reinventing Rhonda, Roseanne or Roxie just doesn't do it for me. Maybe Reinventing Rachel? Mmmm, I'll have to give that one some thought. Actually, no. My heroine doesn't have a 'rachel' personality. :(Jessica Fergusonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18320362797117599955noreply@blogger.com
